Here's another illustration completed as a product of my $30 Commission Sale, finished in neutral gray Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils on 9 " X 12" Strathmore drawing paper.

Comic book writer Vito Delsante commissioned this illustration of his original character, Manticora.

If you like what you see here, the sale continues until March 3rd, 2012.

I love the grays! I've been playing with Copics and Prismacolors, but have yet to develop any skill with them. ANY.

It is an arduous journey of trial and error, Mike. I learn something new about them (for better or for worse) every time I use them.

I assume you're using a blender with the markers?

The blender is tricky business. I use it to lay down a base of medium for a large area, much like a watercolorist might lay down a wash of clean water to help the medium spread evenly. Also, I'll use the blender to scrub out very low range (0 or 1) grays to blend them out. Using the blender on darker colors makes it look as though you spilled something on the artwork.

I'm planning on picking one up today and giving it a whirl.
